The Goth look, however, often falls prey to seeming cliché, a costume, and worst of all static. The wonderkind designer (she’s 23) Katie Gallagher does goth in a fresh and sophisticated way. She uses her own paintings to inspire her sketches and translates those sketches into the futuristic, feminine, geometric, aggressive, and sexy. She uses leather, diaphanous fabrics and beaucoup de lycra. Looking forward to seeing her 3rd collection and turning on some Zola Jesus.
